An example of a dispute about publication rights of news articles. At the moment Google and publishers are arguing about when Google can post news articles on its sites. A new system should filter content based on indicated rights on specific content.
In the Internet Multi Media Content Model (©Baris A.M.) this would be treated differently. Googles posting of news articles on its own sites would simply affect the statistics gathered about the content item, causing the content item to get a higher popularity. Higher popularity means bigger amount payed by the Multi Media Committee (comparable to Dutch Buma Stemra). So there would be no need to argue about whether Google is allowed to publish the news articles. The content provider would even make extra money off it...
Am I missing something here?!
